How to Make Beaded Snowflakes - 3

Easy step-by-step instructions for how to make beaded snowflake Christmas and Holiday cards by Jennifer Ferrell.

Submitted by Jennifer Ferrell

Today, I'm going to show you how I make beaded snowflakes.

Beads and beading supplies

First, start with silvertone 28 gauge wire and clear or silver beads.

Small beads for crafts on wire

I do not bother to measure the length of wire that I use. I simply stand a ton onto the spool of wire. For each loop of beads on the snowflake it ranges from 3/4" to 1".

Forming a loop and using beads for a snowflake card craft.

After I decide on the amount of beads, I start to form a loop.

Twisting the craft wire with beads.

Then, I twist the wire to my desired length.

Creating the bead loops for this craft project.

The next length must be longer. Form another loop.

Twisting more wires for this craft project.

Twist the wire until you get back to the first one. Then, you start the process over.

The loops are creating a snowflake for a craft Christmas card.

Alternate longer and shorter lengths. Now you can see the snowflake coming together.

Alright so now we have a snowflake. Trim the ends so that you have 2 lengths of longer wire left

Gluing the bead snowflake that was crafted by twisting onto the cardstock card.

In this picture, you can see I stamped Peace onto navy cardstock. Position your snowflake where you want it. Then, using a needle, punch a couple of holes into the cardstock, very close to the center of the snowflake.

Threading the extra length of the snow flake through the cardstock for this beading craft.

Now you can thread the extra length of wire through the cardstock to the back.

Taping the wires onto the back to hold them in place.

Tape the wire down flat into place.

The beginning of a snowflake Christmas Holiday card!

Tadaa! You have the beginning of a snowflake card!

Peaceful looking Christmas Card Craft - the edges softened with craft ink.

The next step is to adhere the card front to the cardstock. I softened the edges with some white craft ink.

Add multiple snowflakes all over an evergreen tree to decorate for Christmas!

The snowflakes are so pretty on their own. Love them on my Christmas tree every year!
